The Atlanta Opera’s "Rigoletto" film captures the company’s riveting November 2023 production of Giuseppe Verdi’s tragic masterpiece. Filmed live from the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and presented via The Atlanta Opera Film Studio, this cinematic performance brings the gripping tale of the hapless court jester Rigoletto, his beloved daughter Gilda, and the lascivious Duke of Mantua to screens everywhere. Sung in Italian with English subtitles, the production features standout performances, including Jasmine Habersham as Gilda, and a commanding portrayal of Verdi’s intense score led by conductor Roberto Kalb. A co‑production with Houston Grand Opera and Dallas Opera, the staging blends dramatic visual storytelling with emotional depth, making "Rigoletto"—a story of love, betrayal, vengeance, and heartbreaking consequence—accessible to audiences online.
